Pronounced as Ninety Eight, the Oldsmobile 98 was named so in 1952 because of the 8-cylinder engine that was used i.e. Series 90.
The 1959 model with a 6.5 litre Rocket V8 engine and Rochester made 4GC Quadra-Jet carburetors gave a power output of 315 hp. With large sized tail-fins, this car was stretched long. Inside the car was an electric clock, power seats, power antenna, power windows, 4-speed automatic transmission, etc. Her top speed was 195 km/hr.
This Oldsmobile model that weighed over 2 tons, was produced in four variants – 4-door sedan, 2/4-door hardtop and convertible.
