It was in 1960 that Nissan introduced the Patrol 60 4x4 in short, medium, long wheel based versions. These were produced in Japan, Philippines, South Africa and India.
In India, they were known as JONGA which was the acronym for the Jabalpur Ordnance and Gun carriage Assembly. These were produced from 1965-1999 and was the main workhorse for the Indian Army.
