It was in 1955 that the German government asked NSU to build a microcar that would allow the public to purchase affordable cars. After producing the Prinz 1 and Prinz II, the Prinz III rolled out in 1960.
Under the hood was a small 600 cc twin cylinder, 4-stroke car that gave a power output of 30 hp and could take the car to top speed of 120 km/hr. These 4-seater microcars were produced for the next two years.
