The name Cowley was given to several models of cars made by Morris between 1915-1958. Few notable names include – Cowley Bullnose, Cowley Flatnose, Cowley Six and so on. But one model that clearly stood out was just Cowley or Morris Cowley as was famously known.
Launched during the summer of 1954, this Morris’s monocoque body was the same as that of the Morris Oxford Series II. Not just that, it shared several things with her cousin including the 1.2 litre, 42 hp engine.
The Morris Cowley 1200 that has the same body shell as the Morris Series II replicates the Hindustan Landmaster that was produced by Hindustan Motors, Calcutta.
