Messerschmitt – Me 262A-1A - Galland Scale -

The Messerschmitt Me 262A-1A was the world's first operational jet-powered fighter aircraft. Its use in WWII started in 1944 as a multi-role fighter/bomber/reconnaissance warplane for the Luftwaffe. Considered to be faster than any other Allied aircraft, including the Gloster Meteor, pilots of the Me 262 have claimed to have shot down over 550 allied planes.

Almost 1500 were built for the German (Luftwaffe) and the Czechoslovak Air Force.

This scale model is a rendition of the one flown by Lieutenant General Adolf Josef Ferdinand Galland, who flew over 705 combat missions and is known to have brought down 104 aircraft in his flying career with the Luftwaffe.
