Originally conceived as a vehicle to assist farmland produce, the UNIMOG developed to have an identity of it’s own for a separate set of application. And so Mercedes worked on the UNIMOG technology and developed a set of vehicles under the brand name MB-trac.
What was unique about this model was the placement of the driver’s cabin. Unlike conventional tractors where the driver was sitting at the rear, the MB-Trac’s cabin was placed in between at a higher level. Produced for nearly 15 years the MB-Trac 1100 carried a Mercedes-Benz 5.7L 6-cylinder diesel engine that gave a power output of 110 hp.
