This truck was developed by Mercedes-Benz to replace the ageing L 312 (L 3500 or L 4500) series and were produced from 1961. For some time they got sold as L 328. In countries such as Brazil they got sold as L / LK / LS 3111 series.
The Mercedes LK 2624 came in various variants such as semi-trialer tractor, flatbed, tipper, etc. These trucks were extremely popular in the Middle East and until the 1990's they were a common sight in Iraq and Saudi Arabia.
