Produced during the years 1996-2003, the Mercedes Benz built light commercial van called Vito was a highly successful model.
Three friends in San Francisco, Adrian Dalsey, Larry Hillblom and Robert Lynn started this firm in 1969. The name D(Dalsey) H(Hillblom) L(Lynn) is the first alphabet of each of their names. It all began when Hillblom put some of his funds and borrowed an old Plymouth Duster and started delivering documents in suitcases. His friends (by then partners) helped to carry documents to places such as Guam, Hawaii and DHL soon began.
In 1998 when DHL was getting into bankruptcy, Deutsche Post picked up few shares. Then by 2001 it purchased the controlling shares and eventually retained control.
