The first automobile designed in-house by AMG, the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 is a car specially developed for GT racing.
It was in 2013 that UAE national Khaled Al Qubaisi accompanied by fellow drivers Jeroen Bleekemolen (Dutch) and Bernd Schneider (German) took the first pole position in the 3rd Gulf 12 hour race at the Yas Marina Circuit, Abu Dhabi.
The Team Abu Dhabi (owned by the German firm Black Falcon) had the best lap time beating the Kessel Racing Team that was driving a Ferrari 458 GT3. The car was a Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3.
This car remains memorable for any Emirati (as a UAE national is called) since it was Al Qubaisi who was part of this winning team.
