The W124 was a development over the popular W123 models (produced in South Africa, Mexico, Poland, Indonesia, Malaysia and Germany), but what was unique about this new model was it’s ability to clock maximum mileage and yet have low maintenance cost.
The estate or stationwagon cars (known as Kombi, in Germany) were 5 or 7-seater cars with provision of folding bench seat to have a flat loading floor. Her technical name is S124.
Mercedes-Benz conversion specialist AMG’s E36 model had a powerful 3.6 litre, 6-cylinder, 24 valve engine that generated 270 hp. This model had automatic gear and ran a top speed of 255 km/hr.
