Any AMG-tagged vehicle from Mercedes-Benz is considered to be the most expensive of all their models as this brand not only signifies top-class features but also the highest achievable performance.
The name AMG was coined by two engineers, Hans Werner Aufrecht and Erhard Melcher, in the town of Großaspach, who used to tune Mercedes cars way back in the 60s. The name was coined from the initials of both the founders and the name of the village where the journey began. Today, AMG vehicles are prepared in a separate factory, where they are able to customise Mercedes-made vehicles.
Each AMG line of vehicles goes through the highest quality process that is individual and carries a human touch. Examples include the placement of pistons in each car to record torque, hand-stitched leather steering wheel covers, and smooth-operating touch-button controls.
All the above has led to the internal philosophy of AMG-"One man, one engine".
