Developed and launched in 1955 by Mercedes-Benz at the International Automtive Show, the model L319 laid the foundation of the successive vans that Mercedes launched thereafter. Produced for 12 years between 1956 and 1968 over 72,000 were manufactured and sold.
Though the L319 was a van and a goods carrier (as this scale model), it also had a passenger variant that could carry 10-18 people.
This is a unique scale model as it has a Volkswagen Beetle Piccolo* series inside the van.
* first made in 1958, only about 100 models of the Piccolo (a brand of Schuco) have been produced therefore making each Piccolo model a highly prized possession.
A rare collectible whose value will grow with time.
