
This van was known by few names because of several company mergers. It was first known as Harburger Transporter series in 1965, then the Hanomag after the firm Henschel took over and finally becoming the Mercedes Benz L 206 after Daimler-Benz took over from Henschel.
Circus Roncalli is a very famous German Circus founded by Bernhard Paul and André Heller in 1976. It is even today very well known for its poetic and acrobatic acts. This circus company used this model for transportation of goods and personnel.
In India, Bajaj Tempo Ltd. produced these at their Akurdi (Pune) plant as F 305 (short wheelbase) and F 307 (long wheelbase) models and went by the popular name Matador.
