It could easily run at speeds of 80 km/hr and as a magazine printed 'The new Mercedes-Benz truck with a well-refined diesel engine easily filters into modern high-speed traffic.' A higher 4.5 ton also came up in 1953 and was numbered as L312.
ARAL is a brand owned by BP (British Petroleum) is well known in Germany and few other countries in Europe for lubricants and other petroleum products.
In India, TATA (Telco) made this model in large numbers and sold its 60,000th truck way back in 1962.
