In just a decade's time, the W123 model from Mercedes-Benz would go down in the annals of automotive history as one of the most popular people’s cars.
This model was built as the successor to the earlier made W114 model, and it was available in several variants such as Saloon (W123), Limousine (V123), Estate (S123), and chassis form for ambulances and hearses (F123).
The Mercedes-Benz model, E-Class 200, was so simple to maintain, that taxi drivers loved driving them, and even after the car's lifespan got over, the models would be refurbished in Europe and sold to poorer countries in Africa, where local taxi-drivers would use them for the next 10-20 years.
