The Mercedes-Benz car model W123 was an all-time hit since the time it got launched. The popularity prompted the Mercedes team to create a Coupé variant (C123) in 1977.
Since the coupé variant had longer doors, the car structure was slightly modified as this car did not have pillars on the side windows. To reduce chances of an occupant being hurt in case there is a roll-over, the height of the car was also reduced by 1.5 inches.
This model, Mercedes-Benz 280 CE was a slightly more expensive model than the sedan version as this car had more luxury features.
