One can say that this model from the Mercedes stable i.e. Type 260D is the world’s first diesel production car along with Citroen Rosalie and Hanomag Rekord.
Built in 1937, the 260D with a 2.5 litre engine developed 45 bhp that would take the car to high speed of 95 km/hr. Produced for 4 years, exactly 1967 units were produced before the Mercedes-Benz factory diverted to make items required by the military.
This car is a replica of their Pullman version.
