One can say that this model from the Mercedes stable, i.e., Type 260D, is the world’s first diesel production car, along with the Citroen Rosalie and Hanomag Rekord.
Built in 1937, the 260D had a 2.5-litre engine that developed 45 bhp and would take the car to a high speed of 95 km/hr. Produced for 4 years, exactly 1967 units were produced before the Mercedes-Benz factory was diverted to make items required by the military.
This car is a replica of their Pullman Landaulet* version.
