The four-door version of the Mercedes-Benz W123 was introduced in 1976 and soon it became a popular hit not only among individual car buyers but also among taxi drivers because of her strong engine, space and reliability.
This model, the Mercedes-Benz 240D which was an extended wheelbase version were used as Taxis in Beirut, Lebanon where it used to travel to Tripoli in the North and Tyre in the South packed with people and luggage.
