The Mercedes-Benz 220, or W115, was a 4-cylinder engine model that was produced during the years 1968-1976. Since it was the 8th year of 1960 and Mercedes was starting their New Generation of vehicles, this model was called "/8" which was later modified to "strich acht," which means 'dash eight."
The legendary Paul Bracq designed the W115, which came in saloon car, coupe, pick-up, and even an 8-seater Pullman limousine (popular among hotels to shuttle tourists from airports).
By the time, production ended in 1976, this model, which was also produced in Argentina (pick-up), Venezuela, Portugal, and South Africa, had over 1.9 crore vehicles on the road.
