Also known as G5, the Mercedes-Benz 200V was an SUV made for both military and civilian use and built during the years 1937-1941. It was one of the highest customizable SUV of that era when products were generally standardized.
This model was the next generation model of the earlier 170V with a powerful engine of 2000 cc and a slightly longer wheelbase. It could travel upto maximum speed of 90 km/hr. About 375 units were made in different variants. For example, a G5 made for mountain rescue teams were called Bergwacht, another variant built for hunting trips were known as Jagdwagen and the models made for high ranking military officers were named Kolonial. Few vehicles were also delivered to the army that had special reinforced metal bodies along with detachable steel doors.
A very rare and unique model of Mercedes-Benz's Wehrmacht or German Central Command Mountain Troops Division.
