An entry-level Mercedes model, the Mercedes 190 or W110 (technical name) replaced the earlier 'ponton' shaped made W120 models. Also popularly known as 'fintail" or "Heckflosse" (in German), the Mercedes 190 first rolled out in the summer of 1961 with two options - 1.9 litre petrol engine and 2.0 litre diesel engine. Later, in 1965 the customer also had the option for buying one with a 2.3 litre petrol engine.
Nearly 6.3 lakh cars were produced for the next seven years in (then) West Germany, Australia and Venezuela.
