Developed in 2017 by Mercedes AMG, this 1.6 litre F1 car sponsored by Malaysian oil firm Petronas is technically known as W08 EQ Power+. It’s V6 engine works in conjunction with two motor generators.
At the 2017 VTB Russian GP held on 20th April, 2017 Finnish driver Valterri Bottas driving a Mercedes AMG Petronas Motorsport car came first as winner, completing the race after doing 52 laps. Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Räikkönen came second and third in the same race.
This Valterri’s first F1 win also has significance as he was drafted as a last minute replacement for Nico Rosberg. Even Lewis Hamilton was left behind in 4th place.
