Designed by Steve Nichols, this car the McLaren MP4/4 had elements borrowed from the Brabham BT55 (its very low line chassis) that was first created by his boss Gordon Murray. And from the very beginning ace French racing driver Alain Marie Prost felt that this car will only create history and so it did.
With a new powerful Honda V6 engine, Prost teamed up with Brazilian Ayrton Senna and created a record of sorts in the 1988 championships. This new car won 15 out of the 16 races it participated in.
