The Mazda made Savanna was sold also as Mazda RX-3 in foreign markets. Under the hood was a Mazda made Wankel engine called 10A (Mazda had earlier purchased this rotary engine technology from NSU, Germany in 1965).
As the Japanese government then had enforced higher taxes on cars above 1500 cc and because this model had an engine displacement lesser than 1.5 litres, the Savanna became quite popular.
This metal model is a coupe version.
