MG Motors had diverted her entire resources into manufacturing of war time requirements such as armoured cars, tanks, etc. But soon after the World War II ended, MG resumed it’s car operations and the best thing to do was to begin where it had ended. So MG on the basis of their pre-war MG TB, launched their new model called MG TC in 1945.
Except for the width of the car that was increased by 5”, this car had the same engine and gearbox as the earlier made TB. This new model was an instant hit with most being exported abroad to Australia, South Africa and even USA (nearly 2000 were shipped). For the Americans, they simply loved this model because of the sportiness it offered.
Three months prior to his marriage to Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Philip (Duke of Edinburgh) an bought an MG TC in the month of August, 1947. This model was also owned by the Maharana of Mewar.
