When first introduced in 1974, the Sherpa was launched as a Leyland Van. Morris continued to use the same name, it was later discovered.
The Sherpa Camper with the raised roof would allow any tall person to stand comfortably. While it had 2 beds inside the cabin, there was a third small hammock type bed for a child that was placed on the raised roof. A provision was also made for 4 people to sit comfortably. There was a wardrobe, gas cooker, small water storage container, etc.
