Land Rover had developed a model in the 1950’s whose windscreen could be folded on top of the bonnet. Its canvas top also could be rolled back.
So in order to transport maximum number of these, an order was given to Leyland to modify their Beaver model. So Leyland rose to the occasion and developed a model that could be attached to a trailer to carry 8 of their SUV’s on a single journey.
