Václav Laurin and Václav Klement who founded the firm Laurin & Klement in 1895 wanted to make a model that would be versatile as a car and as well as a pick-up. It was just post World War I and everything was in short supply so a model like this could be put to different uses. The year was 1927.
Škoda who were the owners by this time (L&K was bleeding financially and Škoda who were an aircraft, ship and locomotive maker stepped in and brought over the firm in 1925) decided to use the same brand for this unique product developed - the 110 Combi.
A vehicle that could travel at a top speed of 80 km/hr, this model caught the eyes of several segments so much so that the firm immediately went to appoint distributors in Germany, Poland and Hungary. Over 3000 of these were produced.
Today the brand, Laurent & Klement is used as exclusivity by Škoda for few luxury variants of Octavia and Superb models.
