The Land Rover Lightweight was an SUV that was specifically developed for the Royal Marines when they found that the existing Series IIA was too heavy to be airlifted by choppers. So Land Rover decided to reduce the length by 10 cm and also make provision for several parts to be removed for re-fitting later.
This model is a replica of the Land Rovers that were used by the (Royal Air Force) RAF Police in the island station of Akrotori, a British Overseas Territory near the island of Cyprus.
