This was a car that was first tested in a wind tunnel in collaboration with the Polytechnic Institute of Turin, Italy. This car came out with an impressive 0.47 drag-coefficient which was a very good result considering those times.
Technically known as 238, the Lancia Aprilia was small yet cosy enough to seat five adults. By the time this model rolled out from the factory, Vincenzo Lancia, it’s founder, had already passed away.
The Aprilia was also produced in France during the years 1937-1939, after Lancia opened a factory in France. This model was named Lancia Ardennes and had slightly bigger headlamps. However due to tough competition from Citroen’s Traction model, a little over 1600 Ardennes were produced in the French factory.
