The Krupp company that made trucks before the World War moved its truck production from Essen to Kulmbach to escape Allied bombing during WWII. Because the Krupp company was involved in major arms production, the firm changed its name to "Südwerke".
The first Titan trucks that were built was marketed as Südwerke Titan and was a very powerful truck those days deliverring up to 190 hp power. Several of them were converted as buses.
