A firm based out of Germany, Koenig Specials GmbH is a firm that is known to convert the already high performing Ferraris to more powerful road beasts.
The year was 1985 and Willy König (Koenig, in English), the founder decided to take the newly launched Testarossa (already having 390 hp under the skin) and revamp its power. So by employing two turbo engines created by Austrian engineer Franz Albert, the total power was taken to a monstrous 710 hp.
A number of modifications were done to make the car go fast. For example the side streaks (meant for air-intake) of the original Testarossa were removed since many Ferrari lovers didn’t like these. Pop-up headlights were replaced by smaller headlamps, the body was made wider by 7 inches so as to accommodate more larger sized tyres. Even the suspension was replaced by a Koenig modified one so that the car can be lowered further down giving it a lower centre of gravity.
This new car would do 0-100 km/hr in less than 3.8 seconds and travel to a maximum speed of 340 km/hr. Named as Koenig-Specials Testarossa Bi-Turbo (Twin Turbo), the car debuted at the Automobile exhibition in Frankfurt in 1985.
