The first Japanese bike to use a double overhead camshaft system, the Kawasaki Z900 was developed keeping in mind the North American market and therefore was named “New York Steak” during the initial stage.
With a 4-cylinder air-cooled 900 cc engine, this model competed with the Honda CB750 in terms of price but was far more superior. Produced for three years over 85,000 motorcycles were produced.
