The Jeep Willys CJ-5* as the civilian version of the famous Willys military jeep. It started with the first civilian vehicle, called the CJ-2, in 1944. The CJ-5 turned out to be the most popular version, and even after four decades, it remained popular.
The Mahindra MM 540, with its 2.1 and later 2.5 litre diesel engines, was based on the CJ-5.
