Jaguar launched the XJ-S or XJS (renamed later) at a wrong time when there was a global fuel crisis. Marketed as a luxury grand touring car, this was produced during the years 1975-1981.
With a 5.3 litre engine under the bonnet, sales was dismal and total produce for the first series of XJS stood at little less than 15,000.
