
The Jaguar XK120-C or more popularly known as Jaguar Type C was first created for the sole purpose of racing in 1951 The alphabet “C” stands for competition.
Produced until 1953 these cars that were fitted with a 3.4 litre engine proved their mettle by winning several races including the Le Mans that it won twice.
At the Reims-Gueux racing track in Champagne, France, a Type C Jaguar #50 sponsored by another British racing driver Thomas Wisdom and driven by legendary driver Stirling Moss won the Grand Prix on 29th June, 1952 after doing 50 laps maintaining an average speed of 160 km/hr.
