The Willys CJ-5 (CJ = Civilian JEEP) was the civilian version of the famous Willys military jeep.
It started of with the first civilian vehicle called the CJ-2 in 1944. The CJ-5 turned out to be the most popular version and even after 4 decades they were popular.
The Mahindra MM540 with its 2.1 and later 2.5 litre diesel engine was based on the CJ-5.
