The first Iveco made TurboStar model rolled out in 1984. With several new features that were introduced this new range of trucks was an evolution of the earlier Iveco 190 model. With a powerful Iveco 8-cylinder 8280.42 engine (Model 190-42) having a power output of 420 hp what was unique about this model was her high torque which allowed the truck to carry higher payload across slopes on the mountains.
This truck after one test showed that it could easily load up to 43 tons and still move cargo with ease. Inside the truck as standard features was air-conditioning, overhead console, extendable tables, electric windows, electrically operated external mirrors, fog lights, wardrobe, etc. that made this truck model a driver’s favourite.
In 2009, Iveco started sponsoring the Scuderia Ferrari Team in F1 racing championships. This TurboStar was one of the models that was used by the team.
