During the WWII, the British wanted to increase their fleet of reconnaisance vehicles and therefore entrusted Rootes Group to design a 4x4 armoured car.
The result was the Humber that was built out a Jarrier KT4 artillery tractor and the body of the Guy armoured car in 1942. These were produced for the British Indian Army and saw war operations in various theatres including the Burma sector and also in Italy.
