Vamos in Spanish means “Let us go”. With these words in mind this Honda kei* truck was designed by Honda based on a model called TN360 which a was a small pick-up truck. This vehicle was created to cater to the urban rich who wanted to travel.
Introduced in 1970, the Vamos was made until 1973 and nearly 2500 sold. With a 354cc, 2 cylinder air-cooled engine, the Vamos had a rear seat that could be removed. It had a spare tyre at the front of the vehicle, hood at the top that could easily be folded and switches that were water & dust proof as the vehicle was pretty open. The 2 seater version was called the Vamos 2.
However, because of the noise of the engine and open design, it could not gain popularity.
* Kei – these are small mini-trucks and vans in Japan.
