Trailways is a transportation firm (similar to Greyhound and Jefferson Lines) that began operations in 1936 when five companies came together to offer inter-city travel to the public. The firm still exists today and has over 50 members who use the same brand.
General Motors (GMC) who had changed the bus industry in America with several features such as rear engines, high-deck buses, underfloor luggage space, semi-monocoque bus bodies, etc. allowed transporters to use these buses on long distance routes.
