With a 2.5-litre engine, the GAZ-made Volga or the M24-10 model was developed as the successor model to the 1950’s GAZ M21. Built during the years 1985–1992, the Volga was very popular among the Soviet populace as well as a few other communist countries.
This model was also assembled in Belgium by a firm called Sobimpex n.v. and sold to Western Europe under the brand name "Scaldia Volga."
