The Ford's Ranger version of pick-ups have been made since 1965 but it sold as a variant of Ford F-series. It was only in 1982 that they started using separate name, Ranger. This model was launched internationally much later.
This Ford Ranger for the European market was not made by Ford themselves, but at the Mazda plant in Thailand with several specification changes geared for the EU. Essentially the Mazda B-series pick-up, these did well in Europe.
