Produced in Australia, the Ford Falcon XB is a 5.8 litre engine car and is a successful model.
In 1979, when the movie ‘Mad Max’ was being produced on a shoestring budget, this modified Falcon XB was used. Nicknamed as “Pursuit Special”, this car was meant for the main character Max Rockatansky (played by actor, Mel Gibson) who used this car to extract revenge on a motorcycle gang who had killed his wife Jessie and son, Sprog.
To build this car, the director of the movie commissioned a coachbuilding firm called Graf-X. This car had modified wheel arch flares, front nose cone and a Weiand 6-71 supercharger installation that protruded out of the bonnet.
