Produced for just three years, the French made Ford Comète was an effort by France’s Ford distributor SAF.
Ford SAF, the firm that made this model entrusted the body to be built by Facel (Facel Vega). Insiide the bonnet was a modified 2.2 litre V8 engine of Ford (this model was given a more powerful 4.0 litre engine towards the end of production). Marketed as a luxury car, the Ford Comète had a 4-speed manual transmission and was priced almost 70% more than the SAF made Ford Vedette.
