This model is one of the most important vehicles of automotive history as its very idea laid the concept of trucks in the years to come.
The Ford Model A was long awaited by people as it was the next-gen model following the roaring success of the earlier, Model T. The Ford Model AA, small truck version was similar to the car version but had a small difference – the rear suspension had leaf springs that were mounted to the chassis and attached to the rear axle with a payload capacity of 1.5 tons.
Matchbox as a brand was introduced by a firm called Lesney in 1953. The product was named so since each diecast model came in boxes that were shaped like a matchbox. Mattel purchased this brand in 1997 and they still continue to make them.
This metal scale model is from the series called Models of Yesteryears.
