Ermenegildo Bartoletti founded this firm in Forli, Italy to build horse-carriages. With time his firm Carrozzeria Bartoletti graduated to build some of the world’s most well-known transporters for several brands such as Ferrari, Maserati, Shelby, etc.
This particular model was built on the chassis of a bus model from FIAT, called 642 which was first produced in 1952. The RN2, a latter version came equipped with a more powerful 6.6 litre engine (because of her front-grille, this truck/bus model was nicknamed “a baffo” which means moustache, in Italian).
This transporter was pressed in to service by Maserati from the year 1957 and carried five time world winning Argentinian champion Juan Manuel Fangio's car to race in all the European venues.
