Introduced during the end of 1957 racing season the Ferrari 250 TR (Testa Rossa) because of few rule changes in race competitions, this model won almost each race that it participated in. Whether it was at the 24 hour Le Mans or the 12 hour Sebring race or at the Targa Florio the 250 TR went on winning race after race with several drivers.
Since there was continual improvement in it’s engine performance, the new model was labelled as the Ferrari 250 TRI61.
In the year 1961 one of the cars participating at the Le Mans race at Circuit de la Sarthe, France won the race. Sponsored by Ferrari i.e. Scuderia Ferrari, drivers Olivier Gendebien (Germany) and Phil Hill (USA) won after completion of 333 laps.
