Designed by Hungarian born designer Vittorio Jano and Carlo Chitti (also involved in the Ferrari 156 Sharknose), the Ferrari Dino 246 was developed only to be raced at F1 Championships.
With a 2.4 litre, 65° V6, naturally aspirated mid-engine that was mounted longitudinally, this car was the first V6 car to win a GP.
At the French GP, the car driven by British Mike Hawthorn came in first position followed by Sir Stirling Moss on a Vanwall and Wolfgang von Trips on a Ferrari. This race was also the last race for Argentianian Manuel Fangio who was driving a Maserati and came fourth.
